Exhibitions: 4 x 4Object Information
Gemna, an energetic wire sculpture, exemplifies the anti-form and systems works for which post-minimalist sculptor Alan Saret is best known. It reflects his belief that form should derive from the qualities of the material from which it was created. Here, the artist works copper wire, inconel, and brass into tangled mats. Scrambled strands of bright blue wire and knotted copper result in a work that resembles both disheveled hair and the inner workings of a complex technological device.
